He is highly regarded in the international scene and recognized as a pioneer in blending genres such as Afrotech, Melodic, Amapiano, House, and Techno. He has received support from acclaimed artists like Damian Lazarus, Solomun, Amémé, and TSHA. Having released nine EPs, Philou Louzolo gained recognition with his debut album, which was nominated for “Best Album of the Year” by 3voor12, the most prominent music platform in the Netherlands. Furthermore, DJ Mag and BBC Radio 1 named him as one to watch in 2023. In his album “African Gold,” Philou bridges his love for Afro and Techno music. He collaborates with 17 artists from Africa, including Kususa, MoMa Ready, Floyd Lavine, and DJ Kwamzy. “African Gold” showcases a range of Afro styles, combining Afrotech and Amapiano with Tech-house and Melodic elements.
